We were told there were only two campgrounds (Dogwood Campground and North Shore Campgrounds) that were open within a five mile radius of Running Springs, CA during that time frame.  You can find more information and to make reservation at one of those campgrounds you can go to: http://www.recreation.gov/campgroundSearch.do
In the search bar enter: RV Sites or Tents (Looking For), Enter: California (State), Enter: Running Springs, 92382 (Near), and then click on the "Search Facilities" button.
